Welcome to my Tilted world

Uniquely handcrafted clay vessels using playfulness and humour.

My initial experience with pottery was in my late 20’s at a small community potters guild in Ontario, making the usual round objects, vases, bowls and altered pots. This method of pottery kept me interested and wanting to learn more. Although predominantly a self taught artist in a variety of mediums, I regularly attend workshops, lectures and conferences. My experience as a part time student in the Ceramics program at Sheridan college gave me a solid understanding of the techniques and skill needed to move forward as a ceramic/pottery artist.

Following my graduation with honors from CMU in Toronto where I studied creature design, special fx and movie make up, I discovered that a melding of these disciplines and my love for clay would lead to new career path. 2017 was a pivotal year for me, as I moved from my long time family home in Ontario across the country to Vancouver Island in order to open my own clay studio.

Each of my one-of-a-kind vessels are hand-formed using a variety of techniques such as pinch, coils and slab. Working with stoneware clay for the majority of my sculpted pottery, I apply different stains and glazes to render depth that enhances the texture. It is my intention to captivate the viewer: to draw you in to elicit an emotional response.

My studio in beautiful Ladysmith BC is my bliss. I am thankful every day that I can immerse myself with creativity. I would be lost without it.
